It’s no secret that the effects of air pollution, chemicals, smoke (including secondhand), asbestos and other irritants are harmful to your health. And when your lungs become damaged, it creates an environment for abnormal cells to grow, which with time increases your chances of developing lung cancer. Chances are your lungs have become vulnerable over the years, but how do you know?
Lung cancer in older adults is the number one form of terminal cancer. Renown Health and the Nevada Radon Education Program are hosting an event to help you learn what steps you can take to reduce your risk of lung cancer. Experts will talk about preventative and screening measures, including Radon detection and Low-dose Computed Tomography (LDCT).
Free radon kits will be available to test your home.
Speakers: Christina Szot, MD, pulmonologist at Renown Health and Nadia Noel, Radon Education Coordinator, and Susan Howe, Program Director, Nevada Radon Education Program
