National Donor Sabbath Ceremony & Multi-Faith Panel
Nov 9 @ 11:30 am - 1:00 pm PST| Free
To celebrate National Donor Sabbath, the Spiritual Care Department and Donor Network West are teaming up for a special event.
This year’s Donor Sabbath Ceremony & Multi-Faith Panel will include the unveiling of a special art piece that will be permanently installed at the Estelle J. Kelsey Interfaith Sanctuary of the Interfaith Spiritual Center at Renown Regional Medical Center.
The Donor Sabbath event is from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9, at the Tahoe Tower Lobby, Renown Regional. Light lunch will also be served at the event.
The art reveal ceremony will be followed by a panel discussion led by a diverse group of community leaders from the Nevada Interfaith Association who will talk about organ, eye and tissue donation from the perspective of their faith traditions.
National Donor Sabbath is observed annually two weekends before Thanksgiving, from Friday through Sunday. During Donor Sabbath, faith leaders from many religions, donor families, transplant recipients, and donation and transplantation professionals participate in services and programs to educate the public about the need for transplantation, while also encouraging people to register their decision to be an organ, eye and or tissue donor.
All health care providers are encouraged to attend this educational opportunity.
