Humans have been splinting their injuries since 1300 B.C.\, and although fundamentals have not changed\, splint selection and application require some thoughtful consideration\, especially with our pediatric patients. Several techniques for splinting will be addressed during the workshop. DESCRIPTION:Ticket includes partner. \nPlease note: This class is a 2 in 1 class that includes the Newborn Care Class and Breastfeeding Basics and Beyond. \nThe morning portion of this class will include breastfeeding benefits and techniques\, the physiology of making milk\, positioning and latch\, how to know baby is getting enough milk\, keeping up your milk supply\, where to go for help\, learn about our lactation consultants and breastfeeding forums. Pump rentals and a visit to our Lactation Connection resource center are also included in this class. \nThe afternoon segment of this class will cover newborn appearances and behavior\, daily care of the newborn\, signs of illness\, and when to call the doctor. Tummy time\, comfort and soothing techniques\, how to keep your baby safe\, newborn screenings and vaccinations will also be discussed. Partners are encouraged to attend. DESCRIPTION:Ticket includes partner. \nThe Spinning Babies Parent Class is designed for expecting moms after the 20th week of pregnancy. This class highlights rotating the baby down and out of the pelvis. \nTurning (spinning) is referred to as fetal rotation and descent. During labor\, the baby must rotate and descend through the three levels of the pelvis to be born. Without this movement on the baby’s part\, vaginal birth is not possible. \nSpinning Babies Parent Class provides: \n\nFour hours of instruction and practical application\nEssential daily activities to give you greater ease in pregnancy and help give baby space to move and settle into the correct birth position.\nBalance techniques to prepare and maintain your body in a balanced\, supple\, and flexible condition for birth.\nBirth positions specific to the three levels of the pelvis as solutions when labor doesn’t move forward in a typical pattern.\n\nThe day of class requirements- \n\nSupport person required (significant other\, friend\, mom etc.)\nWear comfortable clothing.\nBring a large exercise/yoga ball (65-75cm) ALREADY INFLATED\, two pillows (bed pillows okay)\, and a large towel or yoga mat.\n\nIf this class is sold out and you need to take a class please email Chris.Marlo@Renown.org or leave a message at 775-982-4352.
