This 2.5-hour class offers a condensed yet comprehensive overview of labor and birth. Topics include signs of labor, stages and phases of birth, comfort and pain relief options, common medical procedures and interventions, cesarean birth basics, and what to expect immediately after delivery.

Designed for families who want quality childbirth education in a shorter format, this class focuses on essential information and discussion without the hands-on comfort measure practice and activities included in our longer childbirth education classes.

The scheduled instructional portion of the class is approximately 2.5 hours. At the conclusion of the presentation, additional time is reserved for questions and discussion, allowing participants the opportunity to receive individualized support and clarification. Families are welcome to stay as long as needed during the question-and-answer portion.

Families seeking additional hands-on practice, more detailed exploration of labor coping techniques, and extended class time may prefer our Preparing for Birth: 4-Week Series, Preparing for Birth: 1-Day Class, or our Birth Support & Relaxation Strategies class.
